August 9, 2013 – Before I start, let’s begin with a question. What is Indigenous MapUp? So, in partnership with the National Congress of American Indians, and in honour of the United Nation’s International Day of the World’s Indigenous Peoples, Google Map Maker, Google Earth Outreach and the Google American Indian Network are proud to present Google’s first ever Indigenous Mapping Day which was held yesterday, August 9, 2013.
Since, it was Eid al-Fitr yesterday.. My Aunt called me and she invited us to celebrate with them. To summarized it.. FOOOOOD, FOOD EVERYWHERE! HOHOHOHO. I want to eat that durian float again.. :)). I arrived at STI College at around 1:30pm from Tupi, South Cotabato. GOOD THING IS I’M NOT LATE. 😀
#IndigenousMapUp #GBGgensan #STIgensan #MapMakerPH – the hashtags :)) of course #jollibeecityhts 😀
Good to know that there were other participants from NDDU, Alabel Science High School, STI students, ACLS Students and people from nearby community like Malungon and Polomolok.
Just before the map up, especially to those “first timers” of using Google Maps.. they are oriented by the mentors =D
and yeah! for our merienda ….. we have *Jollibee Burger, *Coke, and *French Fries
After that, they also give some swags for the volunteers! && the picture moment 😀
Yesterday’s event was covered by ABS-CBN! I think this coming Monday it will be aired through the local TV . And the last part of our event is… our group picture with the new members of GBG GenSan .:D
It was fun! Because it was a holiday and no classes, a very good timing for us, especially to the students who’d participated in World Indigenous MapUp Event . Hehehe
So, sleepy.. hahaha time check 12:52am ,, can’t think properly. char! 😛
